Insanity

As I suspected, this is craziness, this job. And I mean that in the best way possible... :)

My travel colleague Ashley and I are in the process of booking our hotels for Boston, contacting schools, finding flights, and simultaneously learning everything we can about the company and the product we're going to be selling. It's overwhelming and really exciting at the same time. We hit the road next Weds. So one week to go and then we're out of here!

We're heading to Boston area first. The colleges - Wellesley, Smith, Amherst, UMass Amherst, Tufts, and Northeastern before Thanksgiving. I'm flying straight to LA and then Hawaii for the Purdue/Hawaii game over Thanksgiving, and then straight back to Boston after the holiday. I'll be back in Denver on December 16th. I have a feeling the time is just going to fly by!

Last weekend was our annual Halloween party at the house. And a good time was had by all, I think! I've never seen the house so packed with people! It was hard to move around, there were so many people.

That's the brief update for now! More as soon as I have some time!

Onward!

Hello all and welcome once again to my travel blog!

After a brief stint back in the engineering world, I am off and running once again. This time the travels with be confined within the borders of the US. And it’s part of an actual paying job for once!

My new job is a big leap from engineering and I am thrilled with the possibilities involved. I am half of a traveling sales and marketing team with i-to-i. I did my volunteer work in India with them. The US headquarters just happen to be based in Denver, only a few blocks from my house. We will be based here, but spend the school year traveling to cities around the country, marketing volunteer travel to college campuses. After training here in Denver for the rest of October, our first stop will be Boston. We’ll be staying there until Christmas, with a quick trip home for Thanksgiving. Next year is unscheduled at this point, but it will involve travel to parts unknown.

After the rough start we had to our volunteer work for i-to-i in India (see the archives), I know some people will be surprised that I am taking a job with them full time. But let me say this – although the beginning of that trip was unorganized and more than a little frustrating, it turned out well and in the end I thoroughly enjoyed it and wished that I could have stayed longer.

I will try to keep everyone updated on my whereabouts via this blog. See you on the road!
